Course Information

The host of many prestigious tournaments, Saddle Rock Golf Course promises to challenge every level of golfer. At this lone, high-plains, links-style course, golfers enjoy diversity on every memorable hole. Expect to see magnificent panoramic views, abundant wildlife and expansive native areas. Saddle Rock continues to collect local and national honors, including Westword's Best New Course, Top Rankings from Colorado Golfer and Colorado Golf and was named to Golf Digest's Top Ten New Courses. Addiitonally, Saddle Rock was awarded the Environmental Steward Award from the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.

Local Rules

Pace of Play Policy -

Your position on the golf course is directly behind the group in front of you -
NOT directly in front of the group behind you!

Time-stamp the scorecard at the completion of 9 and 18 holes, before totaling scores
Monitor your pace with the clocks on #4 tee, #8 tee, #12 tee, and #16 tee
Out of Position: If a group (a) takes more than the Allotted Time to play OR (b) reaches a par-3 hole and the preceding group has cleared the next tee; reaches the tee of a par-4 hole and the putting green is clear; or reaches a par-5 when the preceding group is on the puting green.
Each player of the group will be assessed a 1-stroke penalty the first time he finishes more than 10 minutes behind the preceding group AND his time is more than 4:45. For the remainder of the tournaments, any player who has been previously assessed a 1-stroke penalty will be assessed a 2-stroke penalty each tournament he finishes more then 10 minutes behind the preceding group AND his time is more than 4:45.
The 1st two groups must finish in 4:45 or better, or each player will be assessed the above penalities.
Each member of the group is responsible for maintaining a proper Pace of Play
Times will be posted at the scorer's table at the completion of play

Provisional Balls -

It is strongly recommended that a provisional ball be played for a ball that may be lost outside of a water hazard; or may be unplayable; or may be out of bounds.
Do Not Go Back To Hit A Second Shot!!

Environmentally-Sensitive Areas -

A player who plays a ball from an environmentally-sensative areas receives a 2-stroke penalty
If the ball is not in the environmentally-sensitive area, but the area interferes with stance or the area of the intended swing, drop within one club length of a point of nearerst relief, not nearer the hole, without any additional penalty

Ball Drops -

#4	1-stroke penalty	if tee-ball is lost or unplayable between the rock and tee-box use the ball drop located between rock and path
#10	1-stroke penalty	if tee-ball goes into the environmentally-sensitive area and does not cross land use the ball drop located on red tee box
#11	1-stroke penalty	if ball goes into the environmentally-sensitive area separating the two fairways (not the hazard to the right of the tee box) use the ball drop located on north side of hazard (tee-box side); not across hazard
#16	1-stroke penalty	if ball goes into water hazard use the ball drop located at front, right edge of water hazard
#18	1-stroke penalty	if ball goes into the environmentally-sensitive area use the ball drop located on west side of hazard (tee-box side); not across hazard

Out-of-Bounds and Lost Balls -

There is a 5-minute time limit when looking for a lost ball
If more than one player's ball is lost, players involved will look for lost balls simultaneously
A player may play a provisional ball (at time the original ball is hit) from the position of where the original ball was played, with a penalty of 1 stroke.
A player may drop a ball at a point nearest to where the ball is believed to be lost (agreed upon by all members of the foursome), with a penalty of 2 strokes.
If a ball is lost in the native area, relief will the nearest point outside of the native area, still in the rough, not closer to the hole.

Unplayable Lies -

In the event that a ball is deemed unplayable, to preserve pace of play:
1. The player may drop a ball within 2 club lengths of the unplayable ball, not nearer the hole; OR If the player cannot get relief within 2 club lengths, the player can drop as far back as he wants, keeping the point of the unplayable lie in line with the flag stick, with a penalty of 1 stroke
2. If the player cannot get relief within 2 club lengths, the player can drop a ball at a point nearest the unplayable lie, not nearer the hole, with a penalty of 2 stroke
